Job Description:

MATTEO has been designing and manufacturing in Los Angeles since our founding in 1996. Next year will be our 25th Anniversary. We like to say we are cut from a different cloth. We make each order individually right here in our Boyle Heights factory. We are deeply committed to creating jobs and building community.

Overview:

MATTEO is growing and we are seeking a full time retail associate with a passion for ensuring exceptional customer experience. You are the face to the customer, ensuring they remain the top priority while balancing tasks and routines. You create a friendly and welcoming environment by greeting and offering assistance to customers. You take pride in problem solving effectively, answering questions and providing outstanding customer service. If this sounds like you, please submit your resume for consideration.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Retail Sales - Generate sales to meet and exceed sales goals
  • Customer experience - Greets and engages customers, informs about new product updates, sales, etc.
  • Proactive team member - offers options to customers, troubleshoots, and excels at problem solving effectively
  • Merchandising - Oversees floor displays and shelves
  • Manages inventory - Places orders, receives stock, and performs inventory count as needed

 

 

Experience and Skills:

  • High Energy and motivated self-starter who can work independently to execute MATTEO's vision
  • Retail experience with the ability to generate sales (preferably in high-end home furnishing/décor, or willing to learn)
  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and client management skills
  • Understands the importance of customer service and has effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
  • Good computer skills (preferred) including Word, Excel, Outlook, Shopify and NetSuite
